| The train pulls into the Deering Vale station the next morning, though there is a bit of a delay before passengers are allowed onto the platform. The conductor informs everyone to please call the station if they discover valuables missing from their luggage. After a search of the train by station attendants, passengers departing at Deering Vale are allowed to exit, and the conductor informs everyone else that there will be a delay in Deering Vale, before they go to the next station. A few of the train stewards get off to fill out protocol forms with station attendants, and the conductor finally agrees to sit and talk with Jimmy in the dining car, before they press on. He looks completely worn out as he collapses into a dining car. | |

| Jimmy passes the conductor a cup of tea with a smile. "I know you've had a very long night sir, but I hope you won't mind me delaying your rest just a little bit longer. Getting these questions out of the way early will allow things to move more quickly."
He puts his badge on the table and takes out a notebook and pencil. "I would like to know if you saw anything suspicious, or the names of stewards who might have seen something. But, you shouldn't worry if you can't recall specific details, anything you can tell me will help."

| He smiles up at you, and takes the tea. "Thank you, there's a good chap."
The conductor then sighs, and continues, taking you very seriously, "Honestly, I did not hear anything until right before the thieves jumped off the car. It was the gunshot that alerted me. I was up at the front of the train, making sure we passed through this area without a hitch. You might want to check with Bobby though. He's in charge of your car and the dining room after closing. Sorry I can't help you further."
After a pause (you may be going to find Bobby or trying to think of another question to ask the conductor), he puts his hand up and says, "Wait. I might have heard about this before. Conductors talk and swap stories at pubs, and I only thought it was a story at the time..." He trails off.

| Jimmy writes down 'Find steward named Bobby' in his notebook before encouraging the conductor to continue. "I'd love to hear the story. After all, most stories have some truth to them somewhere. And given the circumstances, a bit of pub gossip might just be a crucial bit of evidence." | |

| "There has been talk the last 6 months or so of ghosts on overnight trains, but of course ghosts don't exist. People say there have been the odd traveler who said they saw ghosts who steal trifles from ladies and frighten gentleman. I think there was also something about then traveling in a cloud of smoke, but I didn't listen to any of rumors. Wish I'd taken them more seriously." He sighs and puts his head in his hands.
Just as you are about to leave to go find Bobby he looks up at you again, "Oh and the ghosts are rumored to be a man and a woman, because one wears a skirt, if that helps your investigation at all."

| Jimmy tries not to show his excitement at the prospect of ghosts. Especially since the events last night match the description, and at least one of the mysterious figures was solid enough to get hit by a bullet. But if he runs into Stacy Seyfried again, he might pass on the rumors.
Come on Boone. Keep it professional. You can chase ghost stories later.
"Well it might be someone latching onto the ghost story to commit a crime, it might be the stories were all connected to the people I saw last night. But either way, the similarities are worth taking note of. Thank you for telling me."
He pockets his notebook and badge, "If that's everything, I'll let you continue your business in peace." He extends a hand to the conductor and an observant person might notice a slight movement in his left hand before he offers his right.

| The conductor shakes your hand and directs you back toward the train car that contains your compartment. You manage to track down the train steward in what was your compartment last night. To be continued here! | |
